This really does smell of black cherry for several washes. The sponge is hard enough to be exfoliating and the smell keeps for several washes. After that, it loses a bit of the black cherry scent and becomes more of a generic, pleasant, sweet red cherry sort of smell (not as strongly smelling of black cherry as it was previously). The packaging is useful for storing it in between washes.
